Q: Have you seen any significant progression in 24 Karat Posse since your last feature?
A: I’ve seen tremendous progression with us, Kaylon and I, as the creators and how people perceive our brand and react to it.
Q: What are you inspired by lately?
A: Lately, I’ve been inspired by my family. I want to break the poverty curse and see them happy.
Q: Did you accomplish any goals you’ve since your last interview?
A: We have accomplished a lot since the last article. It’s been a lot of mental growth.
Q: What has been your favorite brand experience since you’ve started?
A: The best experience for me was the Heart of it All fashion show. It was our first time and gave us great exposure. The creative control you have is tight, because the limited time you have the on runway is where you can show off everything you are inspired from. It was overall a great time.
Q: Do you have a favorite summer fashion trend?
A: I really don’t follow trends. I try to be the originator. What I like to wear in the summer are silk shirts, on for the right occasion classic basketball jerseys.
Q: Would you say your style has changed recently?
A: Yeah, I think my style has evolved. I always try to reinvent it with something that’s true to what I like and represent.
Q: Do you have any projects planned for this summer?
A: We’re working on something different that I think people are going to love.
Q: How does your everyday life affect your brand?
A: It’s a lifestyle. It’s the rules and principles we abide by.
Q: Has designing made a lasting impact on your life?
A: What designing has made me realize is that you can design more than just a garment; you can design your life. So from that perspective everybody’s a designer in some kind of way.
Q: Why do you feel risk taking is important?
A: I love taking risk, because you get the knowledge from the experience. For example, if I wanted to do something like real estate and it didn’t work out, I’ll learn from it and try again until I succeed. Risk taking is all about connecting with that voice in your head and wanting to express it.
Q: If you had to give your brand a theme song what would it be?
A: It Be’s That Way – Curly Myrick
