Q: How would you describe your style?

A: I would say that my style is a mixture of chic and edgy.

Q: What inspired you to create a clothing line? How did you get started? 

A:  I’ve always been a lover of fashion and wanted to create my own clothing. I first began redesigning and customizing t-shirts.

Q: What is the persona of your clothing line?

A: The women that wear Nia Grain are artistic and fashionable individuals who love to express their style through clothing.

Q: What are some of your favorite trends to create?

A: I love to create all styles of dresses; Anywhere from clubwear to formal wear and skirts.

Q: What exactly goes into your design process?

A: I usually visualize my designs, then shop for fabric that would best bring the design to life. I’m not really a big sketcher. My inspiration comes out of nowhere, and I could be inspired by anything.

Q: Who is your biggest inspiration style wise? 

A: I don’t really have a person who is my biggest inspiration, but I can say I love Rasheeda Da Boss Chick’s style.

Q: How do you feel you have grown as a designer?

A: I feel I have grown tremendously, from my design complexity to the fabrics I select. I’m never complacent as a designer, though, and know I have a long way to go as far as growth.

Q: Do you have any other favorite designers or artists? 

A: Yes! I love the clothes that Jean Paul Gaultier designs. It’s like a story behind every piece.

Q: What are some goals you have for your brand? 

A: The goal for my brand is to continue to grow, expand and ultimately, be available in stores worldwide!

Q: Do you have any projects planned for the fall? 

A: I will continue to market and push my newest collection “Rainbow Chic,” while starting my S/S 2018 collection.

Q: Have you done any fashion shows or events? Do you have any coming up? 

A: Yes, October 13th, as part of Franklinton Fridays Gallery West, I will be a featured designer showcasing some of my designs for the gallery shop.

Q: If you could send a message to the future you, what would you say? 

A: Continue to work hard and stay true to you!

Q: What is the most important thing you want the world to recognize about your brand? 

A: I am uniquely me, and I will continue to embrace it through my designs.

Q: What is your favorite cookout food? 

A: There is so many to pick from, but I guess I would have to go with the ribs.

Q: What is your favorite summer trend?

A: Short shorts and crops.
