Q:What was life like for you growing up in Akron?

A: Growing up in Akron, life was about basketball,clothes, and how to get girls. Even though my morals were not straight, it kept me out of a lot of bad situations that could have been caused by how I was raised.

Q: What inspired you to start your own clothing line? When did you start it up and was it hard? What obstacles have you had to overcome?

A: Well, everyday after middle school, I would talk on the phone with my bro Kaylon. We would discuss future plans, ideas, and how we were going to run a corporation. We just stuck to our ideas, which led to the clothing line that we started November 12, 2013. I think an obstacle for us is not being able to always afford the creative designs we have. Sometimes we have to save concepts and ideas, which can be frustrating.

Q: What does 24 Karat Posse mean to you?

A: What 24KP means to me is everything. It’s all I think about. We have a lot of plans, and we take this very seriously.

Q: Who are you making clothes for? How would you describe your looks?

A: For the people who are pushing to be the best version of themselves. Our motto is “Made 4 Winners“. The mentality is to stick with it. No matter what, you have to keep that dedication and passion for what you want to accomplish. You must be willing to work hard for what you want.

Q: Why did you choose to incorporate the city of Akron with your designs?

A: I think it’s important to look like where you come from. If you don’t, well, you’re not doing it right. We love representing Akron. The city gave us our gameplan when we were growing up with all the people and the culture so its only right that we represent it. Incorporating Akron will never stop with us.

Q: What or who inspires you the most when designing pieces for your line?

A: Sometimes we may go look at history somethings we may have missed simply because we weren’t born yet so we get inspired from vintage videos from Karl Kani to Shawn Stussy.

Q:   What is your most popular selling item that you’ve released so far?

A:”Akron Is Where The Heart Is” went crazy. I think we showed progression with that one.

Q: What are some of your goals for your brand, short and long term?

A: Our short term goal is to have some collaborations wINVEST IN GOLDith talented people. Our long term goal is legacy and  longevity. We definitely want to be known and respected as one of the best, if not the best.

 

Q:  Do you have any projects coming up?

A: We have a lot of ideas for spring/summer, and we have some visual concepts with our photographer Drew Will. Make sure to be on the look out for that.
